Tell us about yourself and your business.
I am a wife to my college sweetheart and a mother of two sweet little boys (14 months apart) that keep us extremely busy.  I have had a love for documenting life for as long as I can remember which I owe all to my dad.  He passed his love for photography on to me and I am happy to pass it on to my boys.  They love finding light streaming into our house and looking for

shadows!  I took a black and white film photography class in college and learned how to develop and print images in a dark room.  That was an amazing experience which only furthered my love for photography.
I purchased my first dslr in 2011 when my first son was born.  After that I was on a mission to learn everything I needed to know to create images that matched my vision!  I've taken a few workshops and grew so much after each one.  I never imagined I would be where I am today!

Where are you located?
Chicago, IL

Who or what inspires your art?
My main inspiration comes from my boys.  I am inspired by real emotions and connections, by dramatic and interesting light and by creating images that make my viewer feel something.  Once I learned how to see light it opened endless possibilities for my images.  One of my goals is to find beauty in my everyday.

What do you love most about photography?
I love that a moment that is photographed is a moment you can hold on to forever.

Describe your style in 2 words.
Real and Emotional.

Tell us about your specialization or what subjects you prefer to shoot.
I specialize in children and family photography.  Capturing the true essence of children is challenging but so rewarding.

What do you do to jolt your creativity when it’s running low?
I let my boys be my muses!  I like to observe them and let them led me.

What’s in your camera bag?
Nikon d610, 24-70mm 2.8, 35mm 1.8mm, 50mm 1.8

What are your Top 3 must haves when shooting.
Interesting light, 35mm 1.8, a vision

Share a fun fact about yourself with the readers.
I am addicted to iced green tea from Starbucks and I grew up playing the piano,

If you could photograph anyone in the world, who would he/she be?
My dad.

Natural light or artificial?
Natural light.

What impact does photography have on your family life?
I am lucky that my boys like having their picture taken!  My oldest son asks me to take pictures of things for him, it is so interesting to hear the moments and things that he wants to document!

What’s your most important artistic tool besides your camera?
The window treatments in my house!  I love that they can manipulate light in so many ways!

What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned since started photography?
Don't take yourself too seriously!

What advice would you give to an artist just starting their journey in the photography world?
The best piece of advice I received was to shoot from your heart and don't compare yourself to others just to the photographer that you used to be!  These two pieces of advice have helped me set my own creative path and grow into an artist.
